Message from Chairperson of Board of Directors, Kambata Community Development Association:

Kambata Community Development Association (KCDA) is dedicated to the holistic development of Kambata Community.

Our vision is to see poverty free Kambata Community in the near future.

So, KCDA in collaboration with our stakeholders, work together to improve the living standard of Kambata making maximum possible effort contributing significant effects on development efforts in the area.

We are actively engaged in selected key development sectors to achieve our intended goals:

  1. Quality Education Promotion:

We promote quality education ensuring equity among our community. Schools construction, provision of teaching-learning materials, and carry on capacity building programs for relevant human resource gets special attention. In this regard, focus is given to female students in order to ensure gender equality. Moreover, we promote child friendly teaching-learning environment to achieve our long-term development impact in the area.

  1. Infrastructure Development:
    KCDA has prioritized infrastructure including rural roads, access for potable water mainly for the rural community, and provision of facilities with special focus for health and accademic institutions. We work closely with local government and partners to ensure sustainable and community-owned projects.
  2. Health Services Provision:
    Improving community health remains one of the major targets to our efforts. We support local health institutions with essential medical equipment, raise awareness on preventive health care, and promote mainly maternal and child health care programs.
  3. Intensive Agriculture Promotion & Environmental Protection:

Intensive agricultural promotion foccusing on edible fruits and vegetables, supplying improved seeds, bee-farming, diary farming, poultry, and promote drought resilient local crops such as ‘enset’.

We also promote soil and water conservation, reforestation, and sustainable land management in coordination with stakeholders to preserve our natural resources.

  1. Membership and Resource Mobilization:
    Our strength lies on our members. Members of our Association contribute not only in cash but also support in kind, labour, expertise, … and the like.

We often encourage
inclusive and active participation at all age-groups and diaspora community to support our development efforts among Kambata Community.

  1. Livelihoods & Economic Empowerment:
    KCDA promotes small-scale enterprises, voccational trainings, and access to microfinance maily for women and youth to build resilient local economies reducing the level of deep-rooted poverty and illegal migration.
  2. Promote Culture, Sport, Language, and Tourism:
    We are committed to preserve and promote the rich Kambata Cultural Heritage.

It includes local festivals, promoting the Kambatissa Language, enhancing sports facilities, and exploring tourism potentials to share our golden history and beauty to the rest of the world.

In this regard, we extend our sincere gratitude to our partners, donors, volunteers, and all community members for your dedicated supports and collaboration in the past decades.

Again, we hope that your holistic cooperation remains same in the coming years.

Together, we are building a stronger, more self-reliant Kambata Community.
